Take The Trip

I still remember how excited I was that day we arrived at the Big Apple, The City that never sleeps. I could not stop singing of course quietly to myself “Start Spreading the news I’m leaving today. I want to be a part of it, New York, New York. I wanna wake up in a city, that doesn’t sleep” by Frank Sinatra. I planned this trip for many months as a graduation gift to my daughter Alexis. At first, I was very nervous about just the two of us traveling to a big city by ourselves but then one day I came across a quote that read” Life is short, take the trip, buy the shoes, eat the cake. So just like that the next thing I knew my daughter and I were walking through a crowd of people at Times Square looking at the bright digital screens and billboards.
With so many things to do and places to visit I knew four days was not going to be enough time to see everything. I had to do a lot of research on the most popular attractions. Our first night in New York City was magical. We went to a show The Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes. It was Spectacular! On our Second day we did a lot of walking through Central Park and we also got to visit The American Museum of Natural History. Our third day was emotional. We got to visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. After that we headed to Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty. That day was so cold that we had to stop several times at coffee shop to get warm. We ended our trip waking up at 4 am to visit The Today Show Plaza located in the Rockefeller Center. My daughter was so excited to be on television even if it was for two seconds. She waived her signed she created way up high hoping one of the cameras would capture it so our family could see it live on television. There so many other places we got to visit that I didn't mentioned and so much food we got to eat from pizza to cannoli's and lobster tails from Carlos Bake Shop. It was a wonderful experience being able to travel to New York City and the best part was I got to spend it with my daughter.
